25: Slide on some sunnies and make a generous donation
so that people who are functionally blind can have their vision
checked and be supplied a pair of glasses.
The event is the main fundraiser for the International Centre
Eyecare Education, which is an Australian-based, notfor- profit
organisation involved in blindness prevention and vision correction.

forces reunion |

20: The third get-together of the British Commonwealth
Occupation Forces is at the Burwood RSL, NSW, on March 19
from 10am, with a meet and greet at the same RSL from 3pm.
Guest speaker is Robin Gerster, Associate Professor in the
School of Literary, Visual and Performance Studies at Monash
University.
Mr Gerster is eager to gather the oral history from those
who spent time in BCOF Japan. For further details contact

Sydney-based TV company producing a film on the late Florence
Broadhurst is seeking to hear from any Australian ex-Servicemen
who may have stayed with her and her husband Leonard Lewis
at their home at Worthing in the UK during WWII.
During WWII, Florence and her husband Leonard Lewis opened
up their home to Australian airmen and possibly other Australian
Servicemen.
