Welcome
to Eagle Eye, our new column that will take a look at the
lighter side of life and happenings in the Air Force and the
wider ADF. We hope you enjoy what is designed to be an easy,
breezy feature. And we hope you will contribute your amusing,
lively and interesting anecdotes to ensure Eagle Eye occupies
an eyrie in Air Force News for some time to come.

Congratulations
to RAAF Base Tindal airman Flight Sergeant Jamie Auld, below,
who has deployed on operations overseas for the first time
in his 19-year career. His role in Iraq has been to provide
logistic support to the Joint Task Force Headquarters personnel,
the Australian Embassy and the other military personnel
throughout Baghdad and surrounding areas. Always on the
lookout for “firsts” and records, we were wondering if anyone
has waited longer than 19 years for a stint overseas?

RAAF
Base East Sale aren’t the only ones to add a little fun
to sport with their novelty games (see story on page 27).
Last year Flight Lieutenant Grant Everett, above, and some
of his friends participated in the TFSPO Charity Triathlon
for the Autism Association at RAAF Base Williamtown. Apparently
dress ups were allowed, but they were the only ones game
enough to do it.
