Several
condolence books have been placed at bases
for people to sign. A condolence “book”
is also available online at the Air Force’s
web site. The messages of support in each
of the books will be given to the families.

FROM
a few sentences to a few paragraphs – even poems – personnel and
others have filled pages of the several condolence books around
bases, and available online through the Air Force’s web site,
that will be given to the families of the personnel who died.
Message writers have shared anecdotes about operations and training
done together and remarked on the incredible amount of professionalism,
dedication and enthusiasm each member had for the work they did.
Messages have come from individuals as well as those sent on behalf
of units and bases and even from foreign colleagues who remember
happy times with our colleagues.
Many have said they were an inspirration. CAF, Air Marshal Angus
Houston, was among those to pass on his deepest sympathy to the
families and loved ones of ADF comrades who were killed in the
accident.
“As members of a medical team, their whole mission was all about
providing life-saving support to those in need, and they do so
in a very skilful, professional and dedicated and compassionate
way,” he said.
“They were all good people and we recognise the special nature
of what they did in assisting others. The contribution they made
has enhanced the reputation of the Air Force and the ADF.”
