Assistant Minister for Defence, Stuart Robert, today met with senior company officials from Australian Target Systems and toured the company’s facility in Queanbeyan.
“It is wonderful to see a local Australian company provide leading edge live fire target systems technology to the Australian Defence Force (ADF),” Mr Robert said.
“Australian Target Systems has provided a large number of live fire target systems to the ADF in the past and has several current contracts with the Department of Defence, collectively worth upwards of $2 million.”
During his tour of the facilities Mr Robert met with Australian Target Systems’ highly skilled project managers and technicians, including Co-owner and Director Paul Burns.
“Cooperation between the experienced personnel from Australian Target Systems and the Australian Defence Force is contributing to the development of enhanced marksmanship training systems,” Mr Robert said.
As part of his tour Mr Robert was briefed on new technologies including the Holographic Immersion Simulation System, which enables real world environments to be displayed in a 3D holographic training environment.
