9 July 2015

The Government is aware of issues currently affecting the payment of some Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) pensions, including Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits (DFRDB) and Military Superannuation and Benefits Scheme (MSBS) pensions.

As the responsible agency CSC have confirmed it actioned payments in the normal manner and the problem appears to relate to the distribution of funds by Westpac to other financial institutions where pensioners have accounts.

Resolving this problem is the priority for CSC, which is working with Westpac to rectify the issue as soon as possible.

Members of the DFRDB or MSBS concerned about the payment of their pension are encouraged to call the CSC helpline on 1300 006 727 or visit the CSC website at www.csc.gov.au.
