A Melbourne small business will partner with Leidos Australia to deliver world-class chemical detection equipment for the Australian Defence Force.
Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Melissa Price MP, announced Moorabbin business Point Trading had secured the $7.4 million contract with Leidos Australia.
“This is a great investment in the Australian defence industry, and proves we are producing world-class capabilities right here at home,” Minister Price said.
“Point Trading will support the delivery of this critical capability to protect our soldiers from chemical threats on the battlefield.
“The record $200 billion investment we’re making in Australia’s defence industry is continuing to deliver jobs and more opportunities for small businesses like Point Trading right across Australia.”
The awarding of the contract to Point Trading follows the announcement Cairns-based company J3Seven will work with Leidos to deliver radiation detectors and incident response kits.
Leidos is partnering with both companies to provide the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence equipment capability to the ADF.
