From today, all Australians will have faster and easier access to essential cyber security information to help protect against online threats, following the launch of the enhanced cyber.gov.au website.
The Australian Cyber Security Centre’s revised cyber.gov.au website provides expert cyber security advice and assistance to Australians and their families, small and medium businesses, large organisations and critical infrastructure providers, and Government, through a single digital portal.
Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon Linda Reynolds CSC, said malicious cyber activity is increasing in frequency, scale, and sophistication, making the accessibility of practical cyber security advice more important than ever.
“Attacks by malicious cyber actors can have serious impacts on the safety, and social and economic wellbeing of Australians,” Minister Reynolds said.
“The cyber.gov.au website is a one-stop shop for all Australians to improve their cyber security. It has been redeveloped to improve the delivery of important information on protecting yourself online.
“The website also makes it easier for Australians to report all types of cyber security incidents, as well as cybercrime incidents through the ReportCyber tool.”
Head of the ACSC, Ms Abigail Bradshaw CSC, said boosting cyber resilience does not have to be challenging or time consuming, with the cyber.gov.au website the entry point to free, high quality cyber security advice and information.
“Implementing the measures set out in the advisories published on cyber.gov.au is the best way to stay up-to-date with current cyber threats and build resilience to defend against them,” Ms Bradshaw said.
“Cyber.gov.au has also incorporated the Stay Smart Online website, so now all of the ACSC’s cyber security advice and guidance is easily accessible in one place.
“I encourage all Australians to visit cyber.gov.au and help us make Australia the safest place to connect online.”
