The Morrison Government’s Naval Shipbuilding College has joined forces with Australia’s defence industry to create an online jobs portal showcasing the breadth of opportunities generated by the Government’s booming naval shipbuilding program.

Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said the new JobsPortal would make it easier for Australian jobseekers to move into exciting careers in the shipbuilding sector, with opportunities ranging from trades to PhDs.

“By 2030 about 15,000 workers across the country will be employed in Australia’s National Naval Shipbuilding Enterprise, carrying out the largest regeneration of our naval fleet since the Second World War,” Minister Price said.

“Currently, the Naval Shipbuilding College’s weekly job alert contains, on average, more than 150 job opportunities.

“That number is only going to grow.”

The JobsPortal allows job seekers to search for vacancies in the shipbuilding sector, update their job profile, select target organisations and apply quickly and securely.

It also allows industry recruiters to connect with qualified workers who are registered on the College’s National Workforce Register.

The Naval Shipbuilding College is a Government initiative tasked with building an Australian workforce of highly capable, productive and skilled naval shipbuilding and sustainment professionals by developing a strong partnership with industry and the education and training sector.

“The JobsPortal is a one-stop-shop for job seekers and shipbuilding industry recruiters,” Minister Price said.

“If you are interested in learning more about career opportunities in shipbuilding and advice about training pathways, I recommend you connect with the Naval Shipbuilding College and join the national Workforce Register.”

To access the Jobs Portal join the Workforce Register via the NSC website: https://wfr.navalshipbuildingcollege.com.au/

You will then have the opportunity to log on to the Jobs Portal via the drop down icon alongside ‘contact us’ on the website.
