Minister for Defence Senator the Hon Marise Payne and Minister for Defence Personnel Dan Tehan MP today announced almost $1 million in grants to organisations providing community support to ADF families Australia-wide.

The community grants are awarded to not-for-profit incorporated community groups that support Defence families.

The grant funding will allow recipients to assist families to engage with their local communities, promote personal growth for Defence families, and support child and youth development.

The grants create opportunities for Defence families to form new friendships and networks, and share information and ideas that help them manage the demands of military life, such as the impact of frequent postings and deployments.

The 32 grant recipients manage a broad range of activities, across all states and territories. The grants demonstrate the Turnbull Government’s support for the families who support our serving personnel.
